Reducing MRP nervousness: Integrating value stream mapping and control theory

Abstract

We analyse the impact of the customer, production, and supplier lead times on MRP nervousness, an accuracy measure of the future order guidance given to suppliers. We convert value stream maps into difference equations that we simulate in Excel to verify our analytical results obtained via a z-transform model.
